How close is Manuel Antonio Estates to the beach & restaurants?
Manuel Antonio Estates boasts a prime location, just a short walk from Quepos, providing easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and vibrant nightlife. A scenic 3-mile road through the rainforest mountains leads to the beach/park, easily accessible via buses every 15 minutes (at 50 cents), with a stop conveniently located outside our front gate. Taxis are readily available around the clock, and our tours & activities provide inclusive round-trip transportation from MA Estates. While affordable beachfront homes are limited due to the area’s geography, our guests appreciate the close proximity to town. Although it’s a short drive, our location offers the best of both worlds—proximity to town amenities and easy access to the beach.
How close is Palmas Pacifica to the beach?
Manuel Antonio National Park features three stunning beaches just a 10-minute drive from our location, along with the public beaches of Manuel Antonio. Due to the area’s geography, affordable homes within walking distance to the beach are limited.
Can I hire a chef?
Absolutely! Enjoy the convenience of hiring a professional chef to craft delectable local, tropical, or international meals for you. Prices vary from $60 to $160 per meal per group, based on the meal type and group size. Once arranged, we’ll send you menus for your selection via email.
How far are you from an international airport?
Our location is approximately a 2.5-hour drive from SJO (Juan Santamaría International Airport) and a 5-hour drive from LIR (Liberia International Airport). We offer private transportation from SJO at $170 for 1-5 people, with an additional $10 for each extra person, available around the clock. If your flight arrives mid-day, you can opt to rent a car and drive to Quepos, or consider a 20-minute Green Airways flight to XQP. Our concierge will gladly assist in arranging this once your accommodation is booked.
Is it safe?
Yes, Manuel Antonio Estates ensures 24-hour security within a gated community. The overall area of Quepos/Manuel Antonio and Costa Rica, in general, is considered very safe. However, we recommend practicing common sense during your visit and using the provided safe to store valuables and cash.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes, all homes at Manuel Antonio Estates are equipped with air conditioning specifically in the bedrooms.

How does my phone work in Costa Rica?
You can easily purchase a local SIM card at various grocery stores, providing you with a Costa Rica phone number and data. To add more data, simply visit most stores and provide them with your phone number. Alternatively, you can inquire with your cell phone provider about setting up a plan before your arrival in Costa Rica.
Can you help with tours & activities?
Absolutely! We’re here to assist with tours and activities. Many tours provide round-trip transportation from Manuel Antonio Estates. Note: From May to mid-December, we recommend scheduling activities in the morning due to increased chances of rain in the afternoon during the ‘green season’.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, some of our properties are pet-friendly. Prior approval by management is required before bringing pets, and guests must adhere to pet policies after accepting them in writing. In the absence of pre-approval, a $100 fee will be applied.
What currency is accepted in Costa Rica

Credit cards are widely accepted in Costa Rica. The local currency is Costa Rican Colones (CRC), but USD is also accepted, and you will receive the change in CRC when paying in USD. Avoid large bills.
